STI Advisory Board Votes This Week
The STI Advisory Board has four openings available. Ballots were emailed to members last week. If you missed your e-ballot, I placed a link on my website and I am humbly seeking your vote.
STI is the tea educational component of the Tea Council of the USA. Tea students attend and graduate from three levels of tea education. At each level, upon completion of the classes and tests, students become STI certified. At Level 3, after completing a series of multi-year classes, students become Certified Tea Specialists. There are about 50 CTS graduates globabally.
Education continues through Level 4 with visits to countries of origin, the chemistry of tea and more. STI takes its tea students and its classes seriously. Board members oversee the various committees that comprise the Foundations of Tea classes from education to marketing to tea travel.
What is the Specialty Tea Institute? STI
The mission of the Specialty Tea Institute is to promote awareness and consumption of Specialty and Premium teas by providing an educational forum, resources and education about quality tea for members, the trade, the media, and consumers.
STI functions as the recognized voice of the specialty and premium tea industry, and as such interacts with other national and international trade, consumer, governmental, non-government, and other groups to further the cause of quality teas worldwide. Furthermore STI will sponsor a wide spectrum of geographically dispersed programs to promote the appreciation, consumption, knowledge and sale of specialty and premium teas.
The Institute is organized with the objective of providing a forum where research, discussion and education is fostered. It provides representatives from all segments of the industry an opportunity to enrich and enhance their knowledge and appreciation of the fine teas of the world.
