The recovery road, for a wounded warrior, can be especially long and tedious; extended periods of hospitalization often mean separation from family and friends, and a subsequent longing for the comfort/ warmth of home.

ATV – American Tea Volunteers Needed

American Tea Volunteers armed with donations of china, table cloths, flowers, teas, finely baked deserts and musicians; bring the taste and spirit of home to our warriors in transition, their visiting family members, and caregivers. You can be part of this effort to express thanks and appreciation to those who have served our nation so well, here are a few options.

Monetary Donations

Donations large and small are always welcome to help cover costs. Donations $20 and over are tax deductible. Please make checks out to VFW Post 7659. In the lower left hand corner of the check add WRNMMC TEA. Please note funds not used for the Tea are donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Deadline May 1st

Gift Cards: Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble deadline May 1st

China: Donations of new or used china tea cups and saucers, teapots, creamers and sugar bowls help to give the Tea a homey feeling. Deadline April 27th

Banner Signings: Take an American Tea 2012 banner to work, to school, to a family/public gathering and ask people to add their signatures. Several banners will be circulating around the country. Deadline May 1st

Notes from Children and/or Adults: Get well wishes and notes of thanks add a special bright note to the Tea. Deadline April 27th

Volunteer Your Talents – We’re looking for a graphic artist(s) to help design our invitation, thank you notes, and/or program. If you’re talent is floral arranging and you live in the DC area, we’d love to have you help out with small arrangements for the tables.

Be a Tea Day Volunteer: Tasks include unpacking, setting tables, arranging flowers, last minute food prep, seating guests, waiting tables, running back-up, and end of day clean up. We have several slots that are less physically active, but everyone else, be prepared for some good exercise. Email us your contact information and available hours.
